yasmin karachiwala: Here’s what Yasmin Karachiwala does to keep her weight in check

Weight management is not about eating less and exercising more. It is more complex than that. One should understand the importance of other elements involved in the process and ensure following a healthy lifestyle. Celebrity fitness instructor Yasmin Karachiwala shares tips that she believes work for all body types for weight management.

Morning Rituals

Starting your day with lemon water helps in boosting vitamin C in the body and helps getting rid of the toxins. Post that, eat a handful of almonds as they are high in copper, zinc, and iron which play an important role in the growth, development, and maintenance of immune function. Besides, it’s a good source of vitamin E that acts as an antioxidant to support pulmonary immune function. Vitamin E is also known to offer protection against infections caused by viruses and bacteria.

Stay hydrated
One should make it a habit to drink plenty of water and avoid no-calorie unsweetened beverages and sugar-sweetened beverages. If someone is not able to fulfil the daily quota of water intake then they can add jeera, lemon, ginger or orange with chia seeds or grapefruit with chia seeds. This will help them consume the required amount of daily water intake and keep them hydrated.

Exercise Often

While eating right is important, one must not neglect exercising too. Simple exercises like yoga and meditation, and walking indoors or in the lobby area will increase one’s energy levels and keep one active. Exercising five days a week is important. The type of workout you do can vary as per your liking. This can be Zumba, weight training or cardio as well. It is fine till the time you are involved in physical activity.

Eating right and healthy

Following a diet that complements one’s fitness routine is important. One can dedicate 1-2 hours to exercising every day, but what he/she eats during the day has an equally important impact on the body. Diet and exercise go hand in hand and one simply cannot adopt one healthy habit and trade it off with another, such as unhealthy eating. I believe in achieving overall fitness, it’s important to focus 70 percent on a diet, and 30 percent on regular exercise. Follow a diet that is rich in nutrients and helps build body maintenance. A well-balanced diet with wholesome nutrients like proteins, vitamins, minerals, fiber, good carbs from pulses green vegetables, fresh fruits and almonds. Beside this, eating a handful of almonds every day is a must. Almonds are a source of 15 nutrients such as vitamin E, magnesium, protein, riboflavin, zinc, etc. It also provide energy and are a healthy source of energy to help keep you active throughout the day. Besides that, several years of research has also highlighted the positive effects of almond consumption in controlling heart disease risk factors, better managing Type II diabetes, and enhancing skin health. So be sure to add these foods to the diet, to ensure better health in the longer run.

Keep a positive attitude

Believe in yourself! Keep in mind that some days will be better than others. When you have a day of overeating, learn to pick yourself up and move on. Each new day is a fresh start to healthy eating.
